Sharp rocks December 14, 2005 G. Nagle (Florida) 41 out of 42 found this review helpful
I spent months researching whether to buy plasma or LCD, deciding which size screen would best suit our needs, and which brand offers the best value/quality. Hands down, the Sharp Aquos line of LCDs is the best choice. Initially planned to buy the LC-32DA5U, but finally opted to spend a little more for the D4 series, which comes in black casing instead of silver, has enhanced sound quality (BBE and surround sound), a more advanced tuner, and a digital card slot. There is no better quality picture in the LCD line than Sharp.
While many flat panel owners note that non-digital channels don't look so great, the Sharp tuner handles the lower channels very well, with a minimum of distortion.
Buy the Sharp if you can, at least the DA5U series, and if you can spring for a couple hundred dollars more, get the 4U series. You will not be disappointed.
Excellent TV February 27, 2006 M. Greene 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
After much research, decided on this TV. Amazon had the best price ($300 less than Circuit City and Sears). Shipment arrived on schedule and TV is amazing. Love the black cabinet color. Cable Card worked, but much slower at changing channels than the HD Cable Box so am not using it.
Love this TV December 22, 2005 Noodlehead (Peoria, Arizona) 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
After months of admiring various flat panel hd tv's we finally bit the big one and bought one for Christmas. After looking at several models we decided that Sharp had the best picture quality and the best defination (8000:1) for the price. It is also cable card ready and the black panel is dynamite when hung on the wall. It looks very sleek and classy. It tends to sell out quickly so you may have to have it shipped in from another store or order one but you won't be sorry you waited.
High Defintion picture quality, beautifully designed, and amazing built in speakers. January 4, 2007 audiophile das good (Franklin, NJ USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This LCD is not calibrated out of the box so you need to tweak it to get the best quality. It is very easy to tweak this LCD using DVD called Digital Video Essentials, this DVD will guide you through many steps that will make this LCD reach peak performance. Sharp's HD 1080i amazing quality picture rivals my existing excellent Sony CRT television. Having used this LCD for the past 6 months I have not yet found more beautifully designed LCD than this Sharp Aquos LCD; it's eye candy, it has a nice black piano gloss color. The built in speakers are probably the best feature on this LCD. The sound is so real and full of low and high frequencies that it can compete with complete home theater speaker systems in music and movie reproduction. I only use the HDMI connection to this LCD for best picture transfer. The only thing I don't like about this LCD is that it is not big enough for my room. I am planning to sell this superb LCD to buy a larger Sharp Aquos LCD.
Love equals Sharp. January 23, 2006 Mireya (Texas) 6 out of 17 found this review helpful
After weeks of admiration I finally got mine last night! The picture is super clear, sharp, and beautiful. Thankfully I didn't have to wait, but if I had, it would have been worth it!
