Amazing Flat Screen so far April 20, 2009 Nathan Gasser (Dallas Texas) 35 out of 35 found this review helpful
I saw that Amazon was selling this product and it was a really good price. I had been looking around and was not happy with the small Televisions I saw at the stores - they just seemed cheap. The picture was bad and the sound was poor. Based on specs of this new screen I decided to order it, sight unseen.
Man am I happy! First - the picture is beautiful. The colors are not fake, the skin tones are great and the picture is razor sharp. I am very picky about what passes for quality these days on flat screen panels, and this one is amazing.
Sound is bit pitchy, but its not horrific. I hooked it up to my computer to test that and things were amazing as well - was able to play FPS action without any problems.
Delivery was great. I ordered on Friday morning and had it ready to go on Tuesday Night.
I will come back if there are any issues but so far so good!
One of the Very Best December 2, 2009 Robert J. Clark (Clinton, NJ) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have had this TV for a bit over a month now. I have no complaints whatsoever. The picture is fantastic, clear and vivid. The color is true and the picture adjustments seem limitless. Set up was a snap. All my devices work flawlessly -dvd, vcr, computer, Roku etc. I love this TV. It really is next generation and at the price represents the best value for me. I looked at many, many HDTV offerings before selecting the Aquos. I am very glad I did. It's better than most costing hundreds more. The only negative I can find is the sound quality. It is a little weak but no more than others in this size. It is a very small gripe because I run the sound through a set of compact computer speakers with a sub and it sounds great.
Outstanding Unit February 24, 2010 David S. Shearer (Lancaster, NH) The picture quality is quite sharp and colors are brilliant on this TV.
The unit was easy to set-up upon arrival: just screw in some bolts to attach the stand to the TV. The stand seems to be sturdy.
This unit includes several different types of inputs, including: RCA, three HDMI, component, PC, coax. All of the inputs mean that it is easy to plug several different things into it and not have to keep unplugging to do something different. We currently have a Wii, upconverting DVD player, a computer, standard cable, and a Nintendo 64 plugged into it.
Anyone with a widescreen knows the annoyances with trying to watch TV signal in 4:3 format on your 16:9 TV. This TV has input setting called "S. Stretch" that fills up your TV with the 4:3 without stretching the signal out too far or cutting off the top and/or bottom of the signal. Something that is not always handled as well on other widescreen TVs.
I also like the remote that comes with the unit. It quickly become quite intuitive for me and included a couple of good features. For instance, you can "freeze" the image on the screen (it doesn't pause TV like a DVR, but is more like taking a snapshot of what's on your screen while the live feed continues on) - not a "must have" feature, but kind of fun to use when you want to debate whether or not the football player was in or out-of-bounds or to read the note Chuck Lorre always puts up at the end of "The Big Bang Theory." Also, the remote has 4 color-coded buttons where you can set your favorite channels (up to 4 on each button) for the ability to quickly scroll through the channels you watch most.
Overall, I'm a proud owner of this TV and would recommend it.
Sharp LC32D47UT June 27, 2010 Pat The TV arrived quick, in perfect condition, well packaged and at a fair price for an AQUOS. In my opinion there is nothing better than an AQUOS. The TV is made to process both digital and analog broadcasting and that is especially great in this time of cross over. In my area very little is broadcast digital and therefore I have a beautiful picture on any channel without having to pay the extra to the cable company for digital service and without making any adjustments to the TV for it knows what do to with both signals. I am extremly happy with Technology Galaxy and with Sharpe Manufacturing for this TV set and its availability. Set-up was plain and simple as with all Sharpe Aquos. I consider myself a lucky man and am happy to have Amazon also. I find most of what I am shopping for here and will be a customer for years to come. Thank You!
Pretty good so far, really 3.5 stars May 21, 2009 Ryan Graves (Bothell. WA) 23 out of 28 found this review helpful
Have had this set for about 5 months now and am happy with it. PC mode is really easy and the picture is great. Initial setup was simple, even though the owners manual was worthless. I like the OPC feature a lot as this is in an area of my house that has frequent light changes. My one gripe is about the model itself. There is no real support on the Sharp website and thus no support for me to use my Harmony One remote. I wanted to just check for software updates on the Sharp site; "model not found" was all the website said no matter what format I typed in. The store I got mine from said this was the newest model, but now I wonder if it is just a "gap" model. Anyway, great TV for the money, I just wonder if I should have got the Samsung I was looking at first....
