Good LCD if you get a good price! October 22, 2009 Paul Diaz (Miami, FL United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this at Brandsmart for 328.99 plus tax (6%)
I was willing to spend 400. I was looking at Panasonic, Sharp, Sony, LG and Toshiba. Each one had a fault or 2, but I would have bought any of them, they were all good. My favorite was the Panasonic, however, the audio output was pretty bad. Long short. I chose the 32MF339B based on #1 Price (under 350) #2 the tuner (it seemed to pick up signals while the others next to it didn't) and 3 the audio was loud enough for the bedroom I put it in.
I am a Video Editor. I work and have worked for major networks editing and correcting video. I can tell you that the picture is not perfect, but good enough to watch the late TV shows and an occasional DVD I might throw in.
At $329, you can't beat it. Even if it dies in a couple of years, so what. Technology is moving rapidly and I'm sure I'll want to upgrade.
Great value for the price! November 10, 2009 Mr. Robert L. Brown (E. TN, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The Magnavox 32MF339B is an update to the nearly identical, well rated Magnavox 32MF338B. If you want a better idea of how people feel about this HDTV, read their reviews of the 32MF338B at http://www.amazon.com/Magnavox-32-22-720p-HDTV-32MF338B/dp/B001262W9S . I bought a 32MF339B four months ago and am totally satisfied with it. But, as with the 32MF338B, the sound is weak for a large room. I may add external speakers to it in the future to correct that.
Ok for the money July 5, 2010 J. Foshee (North Mississippi) We have this in our bedroom. We are about 10'-12' from it. The picture could be better, but I can't blame all of this on the TV because our DIRECT TV box is pretty old. I was worried about the sound not getting loud enough to hear, but it is fine. The worst thing about it is I can't program my dish remote to work it, so I have to use two remotes. Overall I would recommend this TV, It has been a good product for the money.
Spend a little more - this isn't worth it. February 1, 2010 Duane (Eatonville, WA United States) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Purchased this tv for $329 at a local store and returned it the next day. Picture quality is sub-par, even for a 720p. Consumer Reports gave it a terrible review as well. Bought a Vizio 32 inch 720p for $364 the next day and it is great, and highly rated at consumer reports. Spend the extra $40 on the Vizio or any other brand, just stay away from this Magnavox.
Bad power supply June 21, 2010 David M. Johnson 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As with all other Magnavox LCD TV's, the power suplly is very low quality. I bought this TV and worked for 3 years but then the power supply went out. Magnavox uses the cheapest parts and computer boards and if you do a search for Magnavox power problems you will see that most burn out at around 3 years. Cost is around $200 to replace. There is also a lawsuit, brought together by consumers, against Magnavox for creating poor quality TV's.
