Upgraded to this 32" Sony for a bedroom TV from a 26" 720p Sharp that I had nothing but trouble with. The picture on the Sony is remarkably better than the Sharp but that is to be expected because of the increased resolution. I also find the sound produced by this 32" to be an improvement over a two year old 40" Sony Z4100 set - remarkably so. I specifically chose the EX500 because of the 120Hz technology and I suppose it is an improvement over the 60Hz EX400 but I'll have to take Sony's word on that. Set up of the TV was very easy with not hiccups whatsoever. I have this TV connected to an LG Blu-ray Wi-Fi DVD player and a FiOS set-top box and this Sony does everything I want it to do and does it very well. Assuming it doesn't die like the Sharp did approximately 30 seconds after the warranty expires I expect to continue being very pleased. The only slight negative that I would note concerning the EX500 is that the TV is thicker (3.9") than I had expected. So if, for whatever reason, you want a thinner version of this TV you'll have to step up to the EX700 whose waist is 2.6".
A brilliant looking TV May 19, 2010

When looking for a new TV to replace a 10 year old Sony Wega in my bedroom, I initially was very interested in the 32EX308 which is 720p but has internet connectivity and comes with a wireless adapter all for about $431 to $459 (Dell, Newegg). However, I came across a deal for the 32EX500 which I could not pass up - $150 less than most places (including Amazon) with free shipping and no tax.
I really like this set, the picture is brilliant and the simplicity of design is very stylish. I compared this set side by side with a Vizio that was priced only $20 cheaper. All I can say is, the Vizio looked like it should have been $150 cheaper.
Three things would have made this a better set for me - if it had internet connectivity, if it had a clock/wake-up function and if it came in a 37" model (the max my entertainment center will accommodate).
I am seriously considering buying the 40" model, mounting it on the wall and giving my kids the 32".

EXCELLENT PRODUCT. PLENTIFUL INTERFACES FOR WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO USE IT FOR (CHECK THE SONY WEB SITE FOR THE BEST DETAIL OF THE AVAILABLE I/O FEATURES). SOME DELAY IN CHANNEL CHANGE, BUT THAT IS THE WAY THAT THEY BUILT IT. WOULD LIKE TO HAVE HAD WI-FI BUILT IN, BUT COULDN'T BEAT THE PRICE. DELIVERY CERTAINLY BEAT EXPECTATIONS.

Very happy with Tv, picture is great, and easy to use. TV was shipped with an outer box, so the Sony box and TV was in perfect conditing when It got to my house. 32 in was the size of the TV
